Meal Plan Special Features
Guest Meals
Guest Meals are available for students who have signed up for a Fixed Meal Plan and can be used if there is a sufficient weekly meal plan balance. Guest meals are for any non UW-Whitewater student and are available each weekend beginning with dinner on Fridays, except for move-in weekend.
Sack Lunches
Sack lunches are prepared lunches available for take out from the dining facilities. Students who have work, school or other University sponsored obligations that conflict with Residence Dining Service hours can contact the dining hall manager to make arrangements. Advance notice is required.
Special Diets
Students with special dietary needs should contact the HawkCard Office. A referral will be made to the University's registered dietician. In most cases, an accommodation can be made for students. Regardless of medical condition or religious beliefs, UW-Whitewater and the HawkCard Office shall make every effort to accommodate a student's needs. If UW-Whitewater is unable to satisfy special dietary needs, the student shall be released from any existing Meal Plan contract. Students must provide written evidence from a physician or clergy person that identifies specific circumstances that require special dietary consideration or exemption.
Sick Trays
Students who are ill need not miss a meal. Sick trays are available for students who are ill. Request may be arranged by the student or the student's Resident Assistant. Requests for a period longer then two days must be accompanied by a note from a physician. Contact the dining facility manager to make arrangements. Advance notice is required.
